CUET UG 2026 Registration Started: Dates, Exam Schedule & Paper Pattern

The registration process for CUET (UG) 2026 has officially begun on 3 January 2026. Interested candidates can apply through the official website cuet.nta.nic.in. The last date to submit the application form is 30 January 2026.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the CUET UG 2026 notification on January 3, 2026, announcing the commencement of registrations for undergraduate admissions in Central and Private Universities across India.

The CUET UG 2026 examination will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from 11 May to 31 May 2026. The results are expected to be declared in the last week of June 2026.

  • Under CUET UG, candidates can choose a maximum of five subjects, which may include domain subjects from Science, Commerce, or Arts, along with one language subject and the General Test.
  • The CUET question paper will be divided into three sections:
    • Section I: Languages
    • Section II: Domain Subjects
    • Section III: General Test
    • Each section will have a time limit of 60 minutes.

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to appear for the CUET UG 2026 examination for undergraduate admissions.

CUET 2026 Eligibility: Academic Qualifications

  • Candidates should have passed Class 12 or be appearing in Class 12 from a recognised board, irrespective of the stream.

  • Minimum marks required in Class 12:

    • General Category: At least 50%

    • SC / ST Categories: Minimum 45%

  • For BTech programmes:

    • General Category: Minimum 45% aggregate

    • Reserved Categories: Minimum 40% aggregate

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2026: Age Limit

  • There is no fixed age limit prescribed by CUET itself.

  • Candidates must satisfy the age criteria (if any) specified by the individual universities they are applying to.

  • Admission through CUET UG is subject to each university’s:

    • Reservation and quota policies

    • Category-wise relaxations

    • Educational qualifications

    • Subject combinations and programme preferences

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2026: Nationality

To be eligible for CUET UG 2026, applicants must fall under one of the following categories:

  • Indian citizens

  • Citizens of Nepal or Bhutan

  • Tibetan refugees who entered India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement

  • Foreign nationals of Indian origin who have permanently migrated to India from:

    • Pakistan

    • Myanmar (Burma)

    • Sri Lanka

    • Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania

    • Zambia, Malawi, Zaire

  • The NTA releases a separate syllabus PDF each year for every test paper.
